FAQs of Handheld Terminal

 

1. Industrial terminal

(1) Q: Just received the Terminal, why it can’t power up?

A: There will be a insulation sticker on the battery when the product delivered to you, please rip it off before you power up the device. And the terminal will also can’t be turn on because of the low power, you can charge it for about 30mins when you can’t start it.

 

(2) Q: The scanner won’t input the scanning data in the App.

A: You can adjust the output mode in the application ‘Scanner’ or ‘Keyboardemulater’ (we have 2 series of  industrial terminal with different scanner tool) that comes with the device, to solve this problem.

①‘Scanner’: open the application, you can get the option of output mode in the ‘setting’ and select the mode which adapt the App you are using.

 

②‘Keyboardemulater’: open the application ---> Appsettings ---> Process mode.

 

(3) Q: How to add a Enter/TAB after the scans?

A: You can set it in the application‘Scanner’or‘Keyboardemulater’(we have 2 series of  industrial terminal with different scanner tool) that comes with the device.

①‘Scanner’ : open the application ---> setting ---> additional content.

 

②‘Keyboardemulater’: open the application ---> AppSettings ---> End mark.

 

(4) Q: The device fails to charge.

A: Please first make sure the the insulation sticker on the battery(except the model with Non-removable battery) has been ripped off.

Please try to charge it for about 30 mins before you turn on, because the device won’t be powered on in very low power.

If it still not work, please try the troubleshootings below to locate the issue, and contact us by email or Skype and tell us the order number, we will provide further solution for you.

Charge it with another adapter and cable to check if it is the issue of the charging equipment.

Charge it with the charging dock if you have one, to check if it is the issue of the charging interface.

Change another battery on it to try.

 

(5) Q: I am using the IPDA030 with 2D scanner, why it can’t use the camera in 3nd party App?

    A: This model is using the Honeywell 6603 scanner head, for this version we design it that the camera and the scanner are taking the same API interface. So we suggest to temporarily turn off the scanner in the ‘Scanner’ application.

     

    (6) Q: I have a IPDA037/50/51, why the scanner can’t scan, there is no light when pressing ‘scan’button and trigger?

      A: Please check the Keycode of the scanner in the ‘Keyboardemulater’, you need to enter the 139 for scan key and 280 for the trigger, then switch on the ‘Enable scanner’.

       

      2. POS terminal with inner printer

      (1) Q: How to connect the inner printer to print receipt from a app like Loyverse POS?

      A: First please open the Bluetooth of the device and connect the innerprinter. In the printer setting, you can add a printer by pressing the ‘+’ key, customize a name of the printer, select ‘other model’ in the ‘printer model’, ‘Bluetooth’ in the ‘interface’, search and select the Bluetooth of the innerprinter, select the 58mm in paper width.       (2) Q: Is it possible to print from browser, image in gallery and document like PDF?

      A: Yes, but you need to download the printer plugin service to get supported.

      For model IPDA032 and IPDA049, you can download the ‘Sunmiprinterplugin’ on the App store(The application with orange icon that comes with the device) to print. You can refer this video about printing on Gmail: http://bit.ly/2HtYZwE

      *Now, our most IPDA032 and IPDA049 has pre-installed the plugin before the shipment.

      For model IPDA045, there is no official plugin to support, but you can download and use the ‘ESC POS Bluetooth Print Service’ on Google Play.

       

      (3) Q: Can I connect the printer with other devices?

      A: No, the innerprinter has been connected inside on hardware, and the Bluetooth is virtual. So it is only able to connect with the device itself and doesn’t support to connect with other devices.

       

      (4) Q: The printing result is not very clear, how to make it clearer?

      A: First make sure the receipt you are printing is in 58mm size that fits our printer so it will not cause the font reduction. There are 3 ways to help making the result clearer.

      ① Set the print density to larger value in Setting.

      IPDA032/049: Setting ---> innerprinter ---> print density.

       

      IPDA045: Setting ---> printing ---> print density.

       

      ② Clean the printer head and the roller with cloth and alcohol. Because after a period of use, the stains on the printer with make the printing not as good as previous.

      ③ The printing print quality is also related to the paper you are using, you can load up with new paper in good quality to make sure the printing could be clearly printed.
